Dear San Marcos Middle School Parent,
On behalf of the Assistant Principal's Office, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child. As Assistant Principals, we work diligently to establish and maintain a school climate that is safe, positive and conducive to learning.
We teach students to act responsibly and make appropriate choices in their daily behavior. We share this goal with parents, and we know that with effective teamwork, all students will make any necessary improvements over time.
Here's how you can help us assist your child:
- Show interest in your child's education.
- Bring your child to school on time every day.
- Regularly monitor assignments and grades; regularly communicate with your child's teachers.
- Communicate with the appropriate school staff (Counseling, Health Office, Attendance, etc.) in a timely manner.
Soon your child will be bringing home a School Planner which includes the Student Handbook. Please read the handbook section and help your child answer any questions that he/she may have. The School Planner needs to stay intact and come to school with your child each day. Please discuss carefully with your student the section covering school and district rules and policies.
Please encourage your child to come to our office if he/she has any type of problem on campus. We address every concern that is submitted to us. Please make sure that concerns are communicated clearly and submitted in a timely manner. Such concerns may be submitted by phone, email, or incident report forms (available in the Assistant Principal's Office) or via our new online "anonymous tips" feature accessible from our school's website: https://www.smusd.org/smms.
Thank you for your willingness to learn about our goals and practices. We look forward to a successful partnership.
Sincerely,
Fernando Ramirez
