Message from our Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

San Marcos Middle School is a thriving community dedicated to helping every student reach the highest levels of academic achievement, expand their potential, and become a productive, responsible, ethical, creative, and compassionate member of society. We are committed to cultivating an environment of respect, belonging, and inclusion that honors the ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity of our school community.

I am honored and proud to continue serving as the principal of San Marcos Middle School for the 2026 to 2027 school year. I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, families, and community members to make this an exceptional year for every Lion.

I began my career as a teacher in 1997 and am now entering my 30th year in education. Throughout my career, I have served as a classroom teacher, program coordinator, teacher on special assignment, assistant principal, and principal of San Marcos Middle School. Each of these experiences has strengthened my belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of ensuring that every student is known, valued, and supported.

My goal is to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to build strong, meaningful relationships. We know that a strong partnership between home and school can have a lasting impact on a child’s success. At SMMS, we are committed to supporting the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development of every student. I will continue to foster a student-centered learning environment that provides rigorous academic experiences and opportunities to explore new interests through clubs, athletics, and school activities, while developing students' artistic, intellectual, leadership, and physical talents.

I firmly believe in every student's potential. Our mission is to create opportunities and pathways that allow each student to excel in their own unique way. Every child deserves access to excellent instruction that prepares them for college, career, and life, as well as caring adults who believe in them and champion their success.

It is my priority that every student who walks through the doors of San Marcos Middle School feels welcomed, inspired, challenged, and motivated. I remain fully committed to creating a school environment grounded in belonging, collective responsibility, and the unwavering belief that ALL means ALL!
