Dear Parents and Guardians,

San Marcos Middle School is a thriving community centered 

around all students reaching the highest levels of academic 

achievement, enabling them to expand their potential, and 

preparing them to become productive, responsible, ethical, 

creative, and compassionate members of society. We strive 

to consciously create an environment of respect and inclusion 

and to support ethnic, racial, religious, and socio-economic 

diversity among all the constituencies 

of our school.

I am thrilled and proud to serve as the principal of San Marcos Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year. I'm excited about the opportunity to work with our community and I am confident that this year will be a fantastic one!

A little bit about me - I have 27 years of experience in education, with 17 of those years in the San Marcos Unified School District, 4 years in the Garden Grove Unified district (Orange County), 1 year in LA County, and 5 years with the NYC Board of Education (my hometown). Throughout my career, I have held various roles in education- classroom teacher, program coordinator, teacher on special assignment, assistant principal, and currently, principal at San Marcos Middle School.

My goal is to work together with students, teachers, and families to build strong and meaningful relationships. We all know that a strong partnership greatly impacts a child's future success. At SMMS, we understand the importance of both academic, behavorial, and social/emotional development. As the principal, I will continue to create a student-centered learning environment, providing all students with opportunities to explore new interests through clubs and school activities while nurturing their artistic, intellectual, and physical talents.

I strongly believe in the potential of every student. Our mission is to create opportunities and pathways for each student to excel in their unique way. Every child deserves access to high-quality instruction that prepares them for college and careers, along with the support of caring adults who champion for them. It is my priority that every student who walks through the doors of San Marcos Middle School feels inspired and motivated. I am fully committed to creating a school environment that fosters a sense of belonging, collective efficacy, and the belief that ALL MEANS ALL!!
