San Marcos Middle School is currently the only middle school in our district and one of a hand full of middle schools in southern CA that offers the Model United Nations experience to their students. This club is for students in all grades who are interested in learning more about the way governments work as well as the pressing issues of the day. Students will improve their research, speaking, writing and collaboration skills as they craft proposals designed to solve the issues presented at their particular conference.  Since most of the conferences are at high schools, our students often match wits with older students.  This not only gives our students a look at "high school life", it gives them the confidence to know that they can interact with students from other schools.
