Mrs. Breyer has developed a wonderful Studio Art Program that teaches students technique and appreciation through a wide variety of media, as well as developing each student's historical and cultural perspective.

The 8th grade single semester Studio Art elective course is based on the California Visual and Performing Arts Standards focusing on the 4 C's of the Common Core. (Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity). Students will create projects in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and 3-D art utilizing the technology of 3-D glasses. Modern Art History from the 20th Century is emphasized (Fauvism, Cubism, Surrealism, Fantasy , Pop Art, and Non-Figurative Art) to help students think and apply skills in a sophisticated and abstract manner consistent with the Common Core Standards.
