Why should I register to use the school website?

The San Marcos Middle School's Website is designed as an interactive communication tool for the entire school community: parents, students and teachers. For that reason, certain information will only be viewable to you if you are registered and logged in. Therefore, registration for the website will be a part of your enrollment process. If you student enrolls at the beginning of the school year, we will assist you with this on registration day. Your student's registration is not complete until you have signed-up for website access and grade reporting. We recommend sign in each time you visit our district website so that you can view all information for parents. Note: Please be sure to change your personal preferences by clicking on "access my info" after logging in so that you can sign up for emergency notifications as well as subscribing to individual teacher pages.

You are probably missing the Adobe Reader plug-in for your browser. Click the link above to install the plug-in and return to the original page to download the document.

What is an RSS feed and how do I subscribe?

An RSS feed allows you to "subscribe" to a special web page called a "blog" so that when the page is updated, you will get a preview message and a link in your mailbox. Thus you do not have to check the actual page for updates until you are notified of an actual change. Several teachers have these types of pages for their classes.

How to subscribe to RSS feeds:

Each blog page will have an orange button RSS button near the top of the page. Click on the button and you will be redirected to a page with links that will allow you to add this particular feed to your browser based email such as Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail. If you are not using a browser based email, you may need a RSS reader. RSS readers are built into the current versions of Internet Explore and Mozilla Firefox. If you are using an email program on your computer, please check the help menu of the email software you are using for more information on how to read RSS in your email window.
